Howdy Fine Folks – we are making more progress on the house remodel. Hello fine folks – it is February 10th and we are right in the middle of our reclaimed fir flooring install. As you recall, this old shiplap flooring is being installed directly over the Warmboard subfloor and pex water tubing… Tools we are using for the flooring install: Table saw, chop saw, drill for installing 2  inch screws, finishing nail gun installing 2 and 1/4 inch nails, sander – NO GLUE or other adhesives are being used… The flooring has rich color and patina from the years of prior use in a grain bin in...

Tiny House Update: Radiant Floor Heating Install

We have the radiant in floor heating system installed and wanted to share!!! It was a learning process for us as we installed the WarmBoard – the structural subfloor panels with water tube grooves. They are from a local CA company, based in Los Gatos and make a great product. Tiny House Update: Gutters and Stairs

It’s the beginning of December and we have more to report… YIPPEE. The gutters and stairs are almost completed so we have preliminary pics to show you (along with some other random rough framing pics). 1/2 round galvanized gutters. Rain chains will be used in the front off the porch and regular galvanized downspouts everywhere else. View of gutters from upstairs/inside – you can see the window screen… Our stacked washer and dryer will go under the 2nd half of stairs and be tucked away behind a sliding reclaimed wood...
