Farmer’s market, food trucks and our green Airstream

In celebration of Earth Week 2012 and the two-year anniversary of their first Farmers Market, Williams-Sonoma has a very special event planned for Wednesday, April 18, featuring some of the best mobile and sustainable food vendors in the Bay Area! Come try something new, get some fresh air, catch up with old friends and make some new ones. Their goal is to make sustainability simple, tangible, and fun. Remember to bring some green because these vendors are cash-only.  What’s neat is that this Farmer’s Market occurs monthly at the Union Street (in the alley) location.

Food Vendors. This month’s line-up includes mouth-watering empanadas from El Porteño, redefined ramen bowls from Hapa Ramen, wild game sausages from the Missing Link, tempting taco creations from Tacolicious, delicious dim sum from Tru Gourmet, and handmade Mediterranean sandwiches from Vesta Flatbread. Succumb to your sweet-tooth with delicious chocolate-y goodness from TCHO. A new vendor joining this month is Bread Srsly—a bake shop on a bicycle—bringing you gluten-free homemade bread and sandwiches.

Bake Sale. The Pottery Barn Teen Product Development Team is having a bake sale to support local education! Oakland School for the Arts is a public charter school located in the historic Fox Theater in downtown Oakland. Students in grades 6-12 receive high level academic education and intensive pre-professional training in the art emphasis of production design, visual arts, instrumental and vocal music, theater, dance, circus arts and digital media. Your donation to the bake sale will help buy much needed supplies and computers for these aspiring young artists! Visit www.oakarts.org to learn more.

We have been invited as a Special Guest.  Our house will be open on the corner of Union and Battery.  Come see the sustainable Airstream and biofuel truck and Celebrate Earth Week!
