Tiny House Update: Radiant Floor Heating Install

We have the radiant in floor heating system installed and wanted to share!!!

It was a learning process for us as we installed the WarmBoard – the structural subfloor panels with water tube grooves. They are from a local CA company, based in Los Gatos and make a great product. AT Weber, our local trusted plumbing company, came in and installed the Pex tubing, on demand Takagi hot water heater, and additional necessary parts.

On some panels, we had to make custom routes (below)

  1. Will you be using one unit to heat your floors and your water or will you use separate units. The one picture of the heater looked too complicated to be just for the floors. Have you tried these out now? How is it working out for you? Would love to hear an update!

    • Hi Natasha – thanks for writing us! We decided to use 2 on demand hot water heaters. One is for the domestic hot water and one is for the in floor radiant heat. It has worked out very well. However as with all on demand systems it does take up to 20 seconds to get hot water to the tap. Cheers.
