Fabulously Green…@ the SF Green Festival

Beekman 1802 Boys and On the Green Road Girls- Fabulous

Our day began with a quick trip over the Bay Bridge in our WVO Truck, bikes loaded in the back.  While driving we received a call from Tony Tersol of Applied Solar Energy to discuss solar sponsorship, yippee a great start to our day!  We parked on the Embarcadero, unloaded our cycles and headed up Townsend to partake in the San Francisco Green Festival.  We must thank our friends Leann Yee and Jean To for paying it forward and hooking us up with tickets.  Girls we put them to good use.  This was a day to remember.

Upon our arrival we valet parked our bikes and headed in.  Cece and I perused the event with open hearts and big eyes.. so much cool stuff to see.  We were mainly interested in researching items for our sustainable mobile lifestyle.  Cece was the first to spot reuseable eco-dishware made out of plant leaves.  These fit the bill of being lightweight, reuseable, hygienic and green.. perfect for the On the Green Road tour.   We introduced ourselves to Guru Shetty, of The Avani Store, to discuss the feasibility and durability of this product… more to come.  Next we found Blue Gold for Life Inc. and water filtration guru Danny K.  We further cemented our commitment to rain water harvesting and our in line filtration systems.  Fabulous!  Speaking of Fabulous, we headed to the Main Stage to attend a presentation by Dr. Brent Ridge and Josh Kilmer-Purcell, stars of the Plant Green reality series, The Fabulous Beekman Boys.   Their light hearted and sincere commentary of the adventures in farming, small town living and making lemonade when life hands you lemons, was both encouraging and oddly familiar.  Synchronicity has us here and now I thought, as we hugged and conjoled with both Josh and Brent after the presentation.  We mentioned that we would love to bring the Airstream to Sharon Springs, PA and visit the Beekman 1802 farm.  Do I see a Beekman Boondock in our future…perhaps for the Harvest Festival… Sweet!

Cece was my imaginary friends name…per Josh.

We ended our day with a delicious vegan black bean Tamale and windy ride back to the Embarcadero.  All said, the Green Festival was a success, we made some great connections, identified some awesome products, and spent a fun day together.
