Airstream Bathroom Makeover – Lumicor recycled resin panel

Lumicor panel – 1/2 inch – silver spun

We love the new shower door.  We decided not to change the interior of the shower, the actual fiberglass itself…

We found a company that recycles plastic, mixes it with resin and decorative options and sells it as usable LEED approved panels.  Lumicor also sells remnant pieces at a fraction of the full price/full size which is good cause these things ain’t cheap.  Check out their site at www.lumicor.com.  Our panel is the recommended 1/2 inch thick for stability – to hold up to years of traveling.

Tilting transom to let the shower “breathe”

A local glass company, Wilson Glass, took on the difficult task of fabricating the arched design – having one fixed panel attached to the Airstream wall, one spring hinged door with a magnetic close and a transom that opens and closes at the top.  Josh was our fabricator/installer and he was amazing! More completed photos on the photos page.

  1. The shower door looks great! Are those strips of silver running through it? Nice.

  2. Hey Nate. Thanks. Josh from Wilson Glass in the bay area, CA fabricated the shower panels/door. They are aluminum threads.
